Learning about Boundaries

by Joshua Packard

Lately, I have been reading psychology books on the subject of boundaries.  This post won’t be all that eloquent or organized.  I mainly just want to propose to you and everyone else, to learn more about the subject of boundaries.  I think that probably 75% of the world’s problems would be solved if people learned about boundaries, and how to set healthy boundaries, and to recognize the boundaries of themselves and others.  Lots of problems are from having weak boundaries, or people who do not respect the boundaries of themselves or others.  And there are various and diverse kinds of boundary issues from person to person.  What I want to do here is just recommend that you find some good resources on Boundaries.  I personally have been reading the “Boundaries” series and other books by Dr Henry Cloud and Dr John Townsend, but there are lots of other books and authors who write on the subject as well.  Just do a search on Amazon for Boundaries (or click here).  There are also various other resources, whether it be online videos, or podcasts, websites, or other media.  If you have heard of boundaries, but maybe haven’t looked into it in depth, go learn about them.  If you have never heard of boundaries, then go learn about it as soon as you can, especially if you are dealing with personal or relationship problems.  There is not a person on the planet who would not benefit from learning more about healthy boundaries, and I would just like to encourage you, whoever you are, to look into the subject.
