We are approaching an election which will have a great impact on civilization.
What principles will I be voting for?
I believe in the principle of subsidiarity. If you don’t know what this is please look it up. It is crucially important and I think it is an unknown principle and needs a revival in society.
I do not support candidates who want to centralize power and take away governance from local bodies, communities, families, and individuals and amass it in a more and more centralized group of self-proclaimed elites.
I vote for free speech, freedom of religion, and all the freedoms outlined in the Bill of Rights. If we did not have the Bill of Rights, our nation would have crumbled long ago. I am very concerned about the attacks on freedom of speech and religion. I am personally sick of being afraid to say what I think for fear of someone attacking me. I am sick of people being attacked and silenced for saying what they think and believe and hold as true. I will not support anyone who favors eliminating freedom of speech and freedom of religion.
I vote for medical freedom, the freedom to not be forced to participate in medical experiments with untested or untried technologies.
I think we have a major health crisis, our food is poor quality. We probably need to look more into how we produce our food and how healthy it is.
We have a mental health crisis, and need to look into solutions for improving the mental health of our people, especially young people.
Our education system is not very good. I have seen a trend where logical reasoning is being reintroduced into our schools and I applaud and support that. People need to learn things such as logical reasoning to be able to sift through arguments. I think a return to some logic education, among other things, will greatly elevate the dialogue going on in our nation and throughout the world.
I will be voting for the candidates who I think will be most competent at working for peace in the world, and at deterring war. We are very close to being on the brink of World War 3.
I am an opponent of totalitarian philosophies and policies.
There are other positions I hold and support, but I wanted to say something about what I am supporting, and what I will vote for and endorse. We do end up voting mostly for people, but more important to me is what principles and ideas we discuss, explore, develop, promote and apply into action. We need to talk about ideas and principles, no matter who wins elections.
These are just some thoughts I have been pondering, and I wanted to share something hopefully of substance. I could rant about what I don’t like, or who I can’t stand, but I am not very good at doing that sort of thing well.
My most important principle is that every human being is created in the image and likeness of God, and thus has an infinite dignity regardless of ancestry, sex, intelligence, ability or disability. We are all children of the same one God who made the universe, and everyone ought to be treated with dignity as a human being. Pretty much all of my principles serve this primary one.
I hope I have said something positive here. I try not to engage in negative debates.
