Today our Crew 4 Veterans (C4V) went out looking for homeless people in need. We brought multiple cars worth of clothes, jackets, gloves, socks, hygiene kits and went out looking for encampments so that we could get them to people in need. Maybe met up with about 5 or 6 people living in tents. It was good to help out some people who are in the most need of it on this coldest day of the winter yet. Sometimes we have been able to help a lot of people, but sometimes you only get to help a few or even one, but even for that one person you help who really needs it, it is worth the effort. The high point I felt was when one person we gave some things to said “This is exactly what I needed! I asked God to help me find these things, and you guys came here in answer to my prayer!”
C4V will be looking for more ways to help out homeless in the area. We found a lot of places where people in need might potentially be, and have been connecting with other charities and groups who serve the homeless and others in need. Please say a prayer that C4V and other groups would be able to best follow the commandments of God to help our neighbors.
